Twenty Four

Can't believe Mae is two years old today!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEET AND SASSY GIRL!
WE LOVE YOU MORE THAN YOU KNOW!
Where does time go! She's grown and changed so much.
Here's a look back (with her 24th month pic at the end).

Hello,
I'm two years old today!
That picture pretty much sums up who I am!
I'm so sassy and mommy and daddy just aren't sure what to do with me.
I say no a lot and don't listen very well.
If I don't want to listen I'll pretty much just stare you down.
Not to mention I've pretty much conquered giving you the silent treatment.
I'm really good at giving this attitude to daddy,
especially when he tells me no or to come to him.
I just stare and blink at you like, "Oh yeah? Are you gonna make me?"
The answer is yes, they will make me!
I still scream in the car, if daddy leaves.
Not the whole time though, so that's gotten a bit better.
My tantrums make mom crazy or so she says.
I'm just trying to express myself, but mom always tells me to use my words.
Sometimes I'm good at that. Sometimes not.
I talk a mile a minute, so they know I know how to use my words.
I'm just stubborn. Like really stubborn.
Where do I get that from? Mom? Dad? I'm gonna say both!
I really like to wear dresses.
Every time mom puts me in one, I touch it and say, "I'm cute!"
Mom always smiles and says, "Yes, Mae you are!"
That's my new thing - I pretty much say everything is cute!
So does brother by the way.
I also like watching Star Wars (thanks daddy), Frozen, and Benji.
I'm enjoying playing with my play food and baby dolls.
Blocks and books are good too.
I also like to play with my brother, most of the time.
I've been hitting him lately though.
I guess I'm just getting him back for all those times he was mean to me.
I get into trouble for it though.
Mom put me in time out for the first time the other day, because of it.
I've got a lot to work on, but glad everybody still loves me.
They say it's because I'm cute! ;)

Love, Mae

P.S. I'm having a birthday party on Saturday.
I really don't know what that means, but brothers excited about cake!?!

Twenty Three

Hello! I turned twenty three months old on the 20th!
Don't I look so big? Well, I sure act it!
Mom and dad just can't believe how big I am!
They know I'm about to turn two, but some days I seem so much bigger!
Everyday it seems like I'm talking more and more.
I can pretty much tell you what I need or want.
I love to say my siblings names.
"There's Sutton!" "Where's Braden?"
I really just love my siblings so much!
You can see how much I love my baby sister here.
I've also been a total mama's girl lately.
I go to mom a lot saying, "I need you mom. I need you."
I know at times it can drive her crazy, but I think deep down she loves it!
I just want to cuddle with her sometimes or have her hold me.

How can she deny that when soon enough it won't be true!
I enjoy playing with play food and my kitchen now.
Still need my babies of course!
I also like to pick out my own clothes, but maybe I've told you that before.
And I always want a bow in my hair, at least for a little while.
I think that's all that's new with me.
I'm still sassy and emotional. I think that just comes with being a girl! ;)
Love,
Mavey!

Twenty Two

Hello! I'm twenty two months.
I'm inching closer and closer to being two years old
and I'm pretty sure mommy and daddy are freaking out about it!!!
They really feel like I'm pretty darn grown up for my age.
They are always talking about how brother wasn't talking as much as I am, at my age.
I just try to act like him, is all! He's taught me a lot!
I talk in sentences now and pretty constantly.
A lot of what I have to say is about wanting something.
"I want drink!"
"I need bar!"
"Mommy, I need show!"
"Where's daddy?"
"Where's brother?"
I know what I want and I'm not afraid to tell you!
I also ask for help a lot.
You see this play set I'm on? Daddy just finished building it for brother and I.
I can get up there all by myself, but I can't get down.
I sit at the top of the slide or climb all the way up to the top level and then I yell,
"Help mommy! Help!" and wait and wait and wait.
Mommy and daddy think I'm just being stubborn.
They are pretty sure I can do it. I mean, I go down any other slide.
Mommy has to come up and get me, then I hide in the corner and laugh.
She puts me on her lap to go down the slide and I just giggle.
I have no idea why they would possibly think I am being stubborn! ;)
I still have a lot of sass in me and it probably isn't going anywhere.
This frightens my parents a bit (or a lot) but I'm sure they will learn to deal with it.
Recently I've started to get really into baby dolls.
I always "need a bay-be."
I pretend to put them to sleep or tell them to go to sleep.
I like to point out when babies are sleeping to, in books
or when my baby sis is asleep in her swing.
"Baby sleep!" I say.
I like to kiss and hug my babies. Oh, and my sister too! I can say her name as well.
Sometimes it all runs together, but my parents understand what I'm saying.
Really, that's the biggest thing going on these days.
I talk a lot and have a big attitude.
Hopefully the attitude simmers down just a tiny bit.
Not sure how much more my parents can take.
See ya next month!
Love,
Mae

Twenty One

Hi, I'm twenty one months old now!
Only a few more months and you won't have to deal with anymore monthly updates! :)
My parents simply can't believe I'm going to be two soon.
They say they blink and then their children are big!
I've really grown up lately.
I talk so much. Way more than brother did at my age.
I've pretty much always got something to say!
My favorite thing to currently do is watch Frozen.
We watch it multiple times a day and I always need my "ban-kit" to watch it!
Whenever Anna says, "Do you want to build a snowman?" I just giggle.
It's just my favorite movie and I actually can watch it for a while!
I also enjoy going to the park! We walk there a lot!
Well, me and sis in the stroller, while mommy pushes us and brother walking!
I like to go down the big slide. Brother can do it, so I can too!
Getting sprayed by the hose is fun too!
Did I mention I'm over my fear of bath time? I hated it for months!
Now I no longer scream like someone is torturing me.
Everyone is thankful about that!
Did you know my brother is my best friend?
I love to play with him and give him hugs and kisses.
At night I tell him I love him, but no one else!
Whenever mommy tries to get me to say it to her, I just giggle!
Mom says I'm a stinker, but I know she loves me so much!
That's all for now folks!
Happy Friday! I'm so glad it's the weekend!
That means a three day weekend for my dad. I always need dad.

Love, Mavey!

^^^Her curls. Love them!^^^

Twenty

Hello! I turned 20 months the other day!
Don't I look so sweet? I have my moments for sure.
Lots has been going on for me the last month or so.
I'm becoming such a big girl, looking more like a little lady, rather than a baby.
I talk in sentences now and I know that makes everyone much happier
because now I can actually say what I want instead of just screaming about it.
I say things like, "I want a dink (drink)!"
"I want a bar (granola bar)!"
"I want dad! I need dad!"
Of course I still say no a lot, which sometimes actually means yes.
I haven't quite figured out how to say that word yet,
but I know mommy and daddy wish I did!
I really enjoy anything that my brother enjoys.
Like care bears and frozen. We love those.
They are so fun to watch together!
I also like playing with his trains.
Sometimes he's okay with it, but other times he tells me to leave his room
and to not mess with his trains.
That hurts my feelings and makes me cry a lot.
Mom says he just wants some alone time.
Maybe I will understand that eventually.
I also like to play with balls, blocks and read books.
Shoes, hats, and purses can be fun as well.
Speaking of that, some days I like to pick out my own clothes.
I picked out this dress today because I thought it was pretty.
Other things I enjoy are trying to drink out of a water bottle,
playing in the cabinets, making messes, and going on walks in the stroller.
OH, I also like to kiss baby sister. Kissing is my favorite.
I even gave brother a kiss when he was upset about going to bed the other night.
I'm a comforter for sure!
I think that's all I have to share today!
I'm off to make another mess for mama to clean up! ;)
Love,
Mae

And here are some of my not so sweet moments just because....

Nineteen

Hello! I turned 19 months the other day!
Really, the only thing anyone can say about me is SASSY, SASSY, SASSY!
I think just writing that word is stressing mama out because she knows what it means.
I'm definitely becoming less and less baby and more and more toddler.
I pretty much have my opinion about everything and want everything to go my way.
I hate bath time for some reason, even though I used to love it so much.
Whenever mama asks if I want a bath I say, "No!"
I know that sometimes I have to have a bath,
but there's still a whole lot of screaming when I'm in the tub and sometimes I try to escape.
My favorite thing to say is, "No!"
Anytime you ask me a question assume that's the word that's going to leave my mouth.
I'm also all about throwing things.
Whenever I'm done with my sippy cup, I throw it across the room.
Whenever I'm done with my food I throw my plate on the floor.
I think it's about the funniest thing ever and giggle.
Mom seems very frustrated when I do this, which I also find funny.
I pretty much find it hilarious not to listen.
I laugh when I get into trouble and still continue to do what I got into trouble for.
I say I don't want spankings, but I sure don't act like it!
I also enjoy screaming. Especially in the car.
Especially if daddy goes into a store and doesn't take me with him.
I scream so loud and don't stop until daddy comes back.
I know this makes mama crazy, but I just can't help it because I am so upset.
I just love my daddy so much.
I ask for him when I get up in the morning even though he's at work.
And at night if he doesn't kiss me goodnight I scream in my crib until he comes in.
He has to kiss and hold me. That makes all right in my world.
I'm saying more words, sentences and am better at conveying what I want.
Of course, it's all full of sass!
I hope my sass doesn't get me into too much trouble, but so far it has!
I'm sure next month I'll be back with more sassiness.

Love,
Mavey

18 months

Normally I write a letter from Maeva when I post about her month to month,
but today I simply can't because look at that face, look at those eyes.
Her sweet face, her blue eyes, her hair pulled back into a ponytail...
She just looks SO BIG! I can't believe she's 1 and 1/2.
It makes my breath catch in my throat to know that in six short months she will be two.
Time goes by so quickly and children grow and change in the blink of an eye.

Since becoming a big sister she's changed a lot!
I've heard her talk in sentences.
She's doubled in size and attitude for sure (Lord, help us!).
She's our wild one... she really tests us and makes us feel crazy often!
She doesn't like to obey, but do her own thing no matter what!
She's hard to discipline or get through too because she wants what she wants.
I know these things will be good things (hopefully) when she's older.
I try to remind myself of that now. It gets hard sometimes.

I know though, that weeks, months, years from now...
I won't remember so much those hard times.
I'll remember her sweet face and blue eyes.
I'll remember how she wanted me to pick her up
or how she rests her head on her daddy's shoulder...
like its the best place in the world when he holds her.
I'll remember how first thing in the morning,
when I get her from her crib, she asks for her brother.
I'll remember how she tries to sweetly kiss her little sister.
I'll remember the moments I wish I could stop in time.

Thankful for this girl. The smiles and giggles. The joy she brings.
The way she makes my heart feel. The way she makes me grow.

Seventeen

Hello,
I turned 17 months old a couple days ago!
This feels pretty big to mom because I all of a sudden don't seem to be a baby anymore.
I'm really a toddler now and all girl!
I run away from mom when she's trying to change my diaper or wants to dress me.
I am not the best listener - never sitting on my bottom at the table and trying to climb on top of it!
Both mommy and daddy get me on about that.
Actually, so does brother! He always tells me to "sit on my bum!"
Do I listen? No, not really!
Brother's pretty bossy, you know it?
Telling me not to touch his trains, to go upstairs, to not do something.
Then he asks me, "Do you understand Maeva?"
Who does he think he is? I mean he's only three!
When I'm not listening very to mom and daddy is around, he usually handles me.
I just listen to him better.
I know that's pretty frustrating to mom, but I'm not sure what to tell her about that!
I do love my mommy...
I love when she comes and holds me at night when I wake up screaming and crying.
I love to NOT share her. Why does anyone else need her anyways?
I get really mad at brother when he sits on her lap or hugs her.
She's my mommy, doesn't he know that? ;)
Mommy tells me I have to share her and that I cannot hit because I don't get her to myself.
I say, you gotta do what you gotta do, to get your mama!
I don't like it when she leaves me with grandma for a whole day.
She said she had a nice day to herself, but I really missed her!
I made her hold me for a long time that night... but I think she liked it! I know I did!
Sometimes though... I just need my daddy. He's good at holding me too.
He's also really good at playing peek-a-boo. That's such a funny game.
My grandma's pretty good at it too.
I'm talking a lot these days.
I say
"All done"
"Brother"
"Book"
"Bye Bye"
"Hi"
"Boo!"
"No and yes"
and other things I'm sure mommy is forgetting because PREGGO brain!
Apparently my baby sister is coming soon. I'm not really sure about that still.
Does it mean I'll have to share mommy? Because remember, I don't like that! ;)

Love,
Mae

I really really just wanted to gush about how big she is.
I figured though I should probably stick to the letter format of things.
BUT SERIOUSLY, WHERE IS MY BABY?
She is seeming so big and I know will feel even bigger when Sutton arrives!

Sixteen

Hello!
I turned 16 months old the other day.
I'm definitely acting like a toddler now,
but most days my parents think I'm a teenager
because HELLO, EMOTIONS!
I cry, I scream, I throw things.
I hit and throw myself on the floor.
My parents really don't know how to handle it
and I can tell I'm driving them a bit nuts.
I just don't know how to handle my emotions!
It would sure help if I could talk more!
Good thing I'm cute, that's all I gotta say.
I'm pretty sure that helps me out a lot. ;)
I do talk some… and am learning more words as time goes on.
I say, "all done" now, usually right after mom puts my food in front of me.
I also say book and goodbye.
I try to say grandma because well, I just love my grandmas.
It isn't coming out quite right yet, but I am trying.
I finally conquered the stairs the other day.
I could go up them, but was really terrified of going down them.
Daddy would try to hold my hand, but I'd hold onto the railing for dear life.
I guess it was a sight to see because mom just laughed.
I'm a climber though, especially on the table.
It is so fun being up there and I'm not sure why others don't like it!
I'm also not sure why anyone else needs mama, but me.
Why does brother need to sit on her? Why does dad need to hug her?
I don't like that very much… she's all mine!
Speaking of that did you know I'm having a baby sister in a little over a month.
People keep on talking about how I'll have to share mom even more.
What does that even mean? I'm unsure.
But I'll be 17 months old by then, so maybe I'll understand and be able to handle it.
(HA HA HA HA…HA!)

Love,
Maeva

Fifteen

Hi!
I turned 15 months old yesterday!
I'm pretty sure mom's never going to stop talking about how big I'm getting
Or how quickly time is going flying by.
Can anyone tell me if this is normal? She says it is, but I'm doubting it!
Over the past month I've been a bit emotional.
I mean, I am a girl and I've always been a bit emotional,
but I've taken it to a whole new level lately!
In all honesty, I just want mama all the time.
If she walks away from me or leaves the room I just lose it.
And if she isn't holding me when I want her to, I scream so loudly!
I know it drives me crazy, but I just love her so much!
Plus, look at me? How could she not want to me around me all the time?
And not always want to be holding me? ;)
I play by myself some.
I like to sneak into brothers room when he isn't there and play with his toys.
Brothers a bit crazy… trying to wrestle with me, which I am not the biggest fan of.
Its just been too much lately and I have to run to mom for love and protection!
I'm enjoying mama reading to me.
I know all about books and when she asks if I want to read,
I go pick one out and sit on her lap.
I like that a lot.
I also like to read the same book over and over again.
What else do I like?
Food, of course! I recently discovered I love oatmeal.
I like to give and receive kisses too. I even make the kissing sound just for fun!
Sometimes brother and I kiss each other. Mama seems to think that's the sweetest thing!
I however, still hate nap time, the carseat, and getting my hair done.
I also am not the biggest fan of bath time right now.
Brother gets too wild in the tub and I'm ready to get out as soon as I get in.
Maybe we need to do bath time by ourself mama?
I think that seems like the best option!

That's it for now.
Love,
Mae.
