Words you just know

Do you have scripture that you know by heart?
Scripture that you find speaks into your life time and time again?
That's what I'm thinking about today....the scripture that I just know.
I know a few verses and as I write this, I can't help but think that there should be more.
Whenever I open my Bible (which isn't as much as it should be) I find peace in His words. A peace I don't find elsewhere and I want more of that...I'm thirsty for that.

Back to my question... what scripture do you know by heart?
One scripture I've clung to time and time again in my life is Luke 6:27-28

"But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you."

There was a time in my life when I was full of hatred... so much that it was all I could think about.I felt like it was eating me alive and I became angry and angry the more I thought about it.It was horrible and left me in tears often. I read this verse at that point and knew thats how I'd make it through...thats how I'd survive. I didn't want to love my enemy, do good, bless, or pray. I definitely didn't want to pray, but I did...thats where I started because I think prayer more than anything, softens the heart. Which again, as I write this, I think I need more of that too!

I'm thirsty...so thirsty for those things and for Him.

The honest truth

I've written about my struggle a bit in having a relationship with Christ. Its not that I don't have a relationship with Him. I do believe in Him and I do talk to Him. I even read scripture every once in a while, but I know, in my heart that the relationship is nowhere close to where it should be. I know that things need to change. The issue though, is that I am the one that has to do the changing. How often do I place the blame elsewhere?

The place I put the biggest blame is on time. I simply don't have the time, I say, but I have to make time.
Just like I make time for my husband, son, other family members and friends... I have to make time for Jesus. Yet, again the excuses come... I need to do this and I need to do that. The truth is though - that I NEED to spend time with Jesus. "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me (John14:6)."Without spending time with Him and focusing on my relationship with Him I forget the way, I get blinded by lies and don't see the truth, and life really becomes meaningless.
The biggest thing however, the reason I know I need to change things is because of how my life, spirit, and heart feel. I feel down. I feel stressed. I feel miserable. Life really feels like its falling apart lately. I read recently that a person's whose Bible is falling apart more than likely probably has a life that isn't falling apart. That got to my heart and I know myself...I know that reading His word is what I need to do because that is when I feel the best. That is when I feel most encouraged, when I feel less stressed, and when I'm all around more happy. Its also when I feel like life is going well.

But I still don't read even though I know that. I place more blame. I blame others by saying they aren't leading or giving me what I need. I've been convicted of that too, though. The truth is that my relationship is between me and God. I've always believed that a person's relationship with God is just between them and God. So why do I blame? Because its easy. Because it takes the pressure off of me. But its no one else's fault. Its all on me. I cannot blame my lack of relationship on anyone else.

God, I know changes need to be made. I'm so glad that You don't do guilt, but that you just nudge the heart and show me what I need to do. Help me make the changes I need to and help me to help others as well. Only You can help me.

God inspires

I have a relationship with God, but honestly, most days the relationship is a struggle. I think about God on a daily basis. I talk to Him throughout the day and know in my heart what He wants me to do in areas of my life, but do I always listen? The truth is, no. A lot of the time I am selfish. Always, I am a sinner. I pray and ask Him what to do. He gives me answers, but do I follow through? Not always. Don't even get me started on reading my Bible. I can go a long time without picking it up. I will read scripture from my phone or via pinterest and sometimes I will glance at my Bible. I don't do it enough, but I guess some is better than not at all. His words do speak to my heart, so I need to go to it more.

I hope you are able to find encouragement and inspiration through His words.
I want to be kept on track and He's really the only one that can show me the way.
So, show me the way Lord.
I just love this verse. It just places a beautiful image in my mind.
Something I always need to remember! As long as I love, I can never fail.
Love, from God and others is precious. Being able to love others is a gift!
Jeremiah29:11 is a verse that comes to mind often when I doubt the future!
I may not know, but God does!
The future is bright, He promises!
Everyday, Lord, I need to come to Your throne for mercy and grace.
Help me to do so. I need it!

Be thankful in everything!

Stripped tee: Target. Pink Top: L.A. Skirt: Old Navy. Shoes: TOMS.

"Give thanks in all circumstances , for this is God's will for you in Jesus Christ." - 1Thessalonians 5:18

How hard is it to be thankful in everything, all the time? So hard! We live in a world thats always in a rush and always has something to complain about! I know I am in a rush often and I definitely complain a whole lot more than I give thanks! Its not easy to be thankful, especially when things aren't going your way, but at least I am alive and breathing. I mean, that in itself, is enough to be thankful for because life means so much!

I want to give thanks more. I want to have a thankful heart.
Today I am thankful for...
- A happy baby boy who laughs and smiles. He's such a joy!
- I am thankful for a wonderful husband who works his tail off in this heat! He works so hard, for us. That's amazing!
- Grandparents who are always willing to watch their grand-baby.
- A cold drink especially water because hey, we have it!
- A roof over my head.
- Clothes that fit even if they don't fit the way I want them to!
- The evenings being cooler than the days.
- God. I am always thankful for the one who created me because without Him I'd have no reason to be thankful!

2 Corinthians 3:17

Top: Walmart. Leggings:? Flip flops: Old Navy.

"Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom."

I have given my heart to Christ, therefore His Spirit dwells in me... because of that, I am free!
For that, I am so thankful. Thankful that the past doesn't equal the future. I am thankful that I am free from former things and can look onward, freely to things ahead.
Living free in Christ means living joyfully.
How wonderful that is!
