On my way to being organized

I'm not by nature an organized person.
I want to be because when things aren't in order it makes me a bit cranky.
So I'm going to try and hope it sticks.
I found this rotating goals list on pinterest and thought it was such a great idea!
Where better to start being organized than with a list of goals?

Here's my version:

I used picnik (while I can!) to create the banner and a sharpie for the boxes.
I decided, for me, it was best to put it in a protective sheet so it does get torn up.
For now I decided to just use a dry erase marker to write in my goals.
I don't have sticky notes and I can rotate my goals that way as well!

I'm looking forward to using this for all sorts of goals... big and small.
Motivation doesn't come easily to me, so I'm hoping it will help me get things done I rather not do
or things I've been meaning to do, but just haven't made the time for.
Things that will probably make there way on that sheet super fast are putting the photos that are on the computer onto disks, so the computer isn't so slow and also finishing Braden's baby book.
I should probably finish that before baby number 2 enters the world!

I'm also thinking about making these for the fridge!
Super cute and will hopefully help me be a bit more organized too!

Inspiration Workshop (week 2)

Today is the 2nd week for the inspiration workshop from Gussy Sews. The prompt for this week is kitchen. I have different ideas when it comes to what I would love having as a kitchen. I will share three kitchens that I find myself enjoying. I found them all through pinterest.

This is a loft kitchen. What I love about this is the openness, the high ceilings and the big window.
I just see myself waking up in the morning, going to grab a cup of coffee and a bagel and watching the sun peer through the window. I like the touches of color in this particular kitchen. It doesn't necessarily go together, but I like it.

This is called the Red n' Retro Kitchen. One of my favorite colors is red. It just pops! In my kitchen now I have red accessories such as a tea pot, plates, and bowls. I love how this kitchen has cabinets that are red and I think the turquoise color goes nicely with it. I also enjoy the dining area and the windows there. I picture myself starring out them in the morning, evening and any time in between.

This is a cottage kitchen. I love the simplicity of it. I'm the type of girl who loves simplicity, but is not very good at it. Its a goal of mine to be more simplistic, so this kitchen is a kitchen after my own heart! I absolutely adore the floor - amazing color! I love how the chairs go with it as well. I imagine myself sitting at the table reading or journaling while a nice cool breeze comes through the door.

Apparently, I imagine myself sitting a lot in kitchens. I do like to cook and have gotten back into cooking more recently. Want to see my favorite thing to cook? Go here. My family calls it apple salsa. I've seen the recipe on pinterest, but I got this one from my grandma. I know it doesn't take a lot to make, but its so good and I could eat it every day, all day.

What's your favorite thing to eat? Seriously, share please! =)

Inspiration Workshop (week 1)

Yes, I know this is post number two for the day, but I just decided to join this workshop because it is about finding inspiration and who doesn't like to find some!?! If you want to read more about it or join then click here. The idea of it is to share the beauty that is all around us. Sometimes we miss it. I believe a lot of the time we miss it because we're in a hurry, we're grumpy, we just aren't looking close enough, on and on.

This week the prompt is handmade. I love handmade things.
I just wish I was more crafty.
I'll keep on trying!

Here is my inspiration for handmade.

I saw this necklace on Pinterest (side note: don't you just love this site? hello inspiration!) and automatically liked it! I love that its a charm necklace instead of bracelet. I love that whom ever makes one will have a completely unique necklace because of what charms they choose.

If I made this and maybe I will there are a few charms I know I'd have!

The letter B because that is my baby boys initial.
A camera because I love to take pictures.
A cross because I love Jesus!
A gerber daisy because those were the flowers at my wedding.
A globe because one day I want to travel.
A pen because writing is a passion of mine.
And a book because I love a good read.

What charms would you choose?
