Soul Detoxing

I've written about it before, how bad I am at continually reading the Bible.
Well, it hasn't really changed. I say I want it to, but I've never been good at making the change.
It is something that really bothers me, bother my heart.
I read the Bible at Bible study, which I am so thankful for,
because I always leave feeling refreshed and filled up.
But I want it daily... to feel encouraged, to feel filled up and refreshed by His word.

I was on instagram the other day and came across a post by Gussy Sews that caught my attention.
It was a devotional that looked interesting, so I asked about it, and turns out there's a group of ladies
that are going through the devotional Soul Detoxing on the You Version app.
I decided to look into it and it's just what I needed!
Its a month long devotional about how our thoughts can be toxic and really cause harm in our life.
We need to go to God with our thoughts in order to change things.
I'm loving it and have been able to really dig into it. Its so good!
This is one of the reasons I love social networking.
These women are encouraging and uplifting!
Its so neat that you can connect with other woman and dig into the word of God with them!

I want to get better at reading the Bible on a more consistent basis. Hopefully daily!
I think Bible plans are what work best for me.
I'm not very good at commitment when it comes to doing things and I want to get better at that as well.
I hope that this is the step in the right direction for me and my relationship with God.

Do you struggle with reading His word consistently? Do you want to be encouraged by other women?
Are you struggling with toxic thoughts in your own life? Do you just want a new, different Bible plan?
Check it out then -- its under Bible Plans on the You Version app.
Also check it out of twitter -- the hashtag is #SheReadsTruth.
It's amazing. You'll love it.

  1. I LOVE your blog!! I struggle with reading scripture daily because I am new to it. I grew up Catholic like you and had a horrid time in that church. It wasn't until recently that after reading blogs and authors like Ann Voskamp and Sally Clarkson that my eyes really opened. Now I am craving more! Have you read What Happens When Women Say Yes To God? That book is awesome.

I haven't read When Women Say Yes to God, but sounds interesting!
I've read both the other ladies though -- so uplifting and encouraging!
