Giving up on clean

^^^^ I'm really good at avoiding this^^^^

Okay, not really because that could get bad and gross really quickly.
My goodness though, when you become a mom the cleaning really never ends does it? There is always something to clean!
There are always clothes to be washed, folded, and put away.
Which, by the way, I hate doing. I can avoid the folding part for weeks!
Always dirty dishes and toys everywhere!

I really love a clean place. For a while I was cleaning everyday, but guess what? It takes all day!
I've given up on that. I'm not going to clean every single day.
I'm giving up on a clean place all the time, a good thing, for other good things.

Somedays I just want to relax and do nothing.
I want to watch tv or a movie.
I want to enjoy a good book.
I want to play with my son or take him to the pool.
I want to take a nap because um, I'm pregnant and tired!
Somedays I just don't want to!
If I clean every second of everyday then nothing else will get done and I want to enjoy life!

Our place isn't always going to look perfect.
Its just not going to happen.
I'm working on making myself okay with that!

Does your place always have to be clean or do you give it up for something else?

^^^^ Braden's room. Soon to Braden AND Maeva's room. It's a mess because I need to make it ready for both of them! Probably starting that tomorrow! ^^^^

  1. Working full time and being a graduate student leads me to not cleaning as much as I should. In fact, it's summer and I really haven't done much. I'm still trying to become a regular person again. The cleaning can wait. :)

    1. I think its okay that you don't as much - its your break. Who wants to clean on their break?

  2. I used to clean everyday too and it is exhausting with two little ones running around!

    1. I bet! I can't imagine how I am ever going to do it after Maeva is born!

  3. I love your blog and honesty that you share in it. I battle the same thing with a 16 month old and the chaos of trying to keep the house clean and laundry folded. I DREAD laundry. Also love your testimony part too. I've been battling with a lot lately and still trying to find myself back to the Lord. :/ I know he is with me each and every day for the countless blessings are just a coincidence. Just sometimes hard to follow after heart ache and etc.
