September Goals

Even though I don't know how quickly last month went,
I am glad September is here because I am so tired of the heat!
I'm more than ready for fall. It is after all my favorite season!

Let's look at last months goals before I share this month.

August goals

1. Work on a schedule for blogging.
I've gotten better at blogging when the kids are napping, so this is a win to me.
I haven't been perfect at it, but its better than I was doing!

2. Spend less time on the internet.
I'm not sure how this went.
Some days I wasn't online so much, other times I was.
This is a big problem for me!

3. Read one book.
I finished The Nesting Place.
I absolutely love that book!
It's about much more than decorating your home!
I think it's a lot about life. I recommend it for sure.
I also started a devotional.

4. Think about a garage sale.
I guess I thought about it, but it isn't going to happen.

Now onto...

September goals

1. Do another round of the whole30.
I knew that I would always want to do another round.
I haven't been eating that great lately because of ice cream and coffee! ;)
I started this round on September 1st. It's going well so far.

2. Read another book.
I'm thinking Made to Crave because that goes along with whole30.

3. Figure out my quiet time.
When it comes to having time with God, I've been awful at it.
I just need to make sure I do it daily even if that means getting up before everyone else.
I really need and want to figure this out!

Three goals seems like a good idea for this month!

August Goals

Another month has past,
so it's time for this months goals.
Let's look at last months goals first!

July Goals

1. Participate in Whole30.
We made it through the whole month and it went really well.
It was life changing for us and I am pretty proud of myself for completing it.
I'm not very good at finishing what I start, so this was a huge deal to me.
You can read more about it here.

2. Finish reading Fresh Brewed Life.
I didn't think I was going to finish it in one month!
It was so good that I didn't want to rush through it.
I didn't rush, but ended up finishing it anyway.
It was SO good and I need to do a review of it.
I highly recommend it!

3. Come up with a list of 30 blogging ideas.
I have a list going in my blogging journal and it's actually more than 30.
I'm glad I have some ideas in my head when it comes to blogging.
I definitely need to write ideas as they come to me!

4. Work on a schedule for the kids.
I worked on it, but didn't complete it.
I don't know why this is so hard for me, but I need to get a handle on it!

All and all I didn't do too bad!
Let's look at my goals for this month.

August Goals

1. Work on a schedule for blogging.
I want to stop blogging when the kids are awake.
So, I either need to do it before the get up or after they go to bed.
I want to figure out what's best and stick to it!

2. Spend less time on the internet.
I know I'm not the only one who struggles with social media in this way.
I feel like it eats my days and I'm consumed with it.
There are far more important things to be doing!

4. Read one book.

5. Think about a garage sale.
I'm so hesitant to do one because it takes a lot of work.
If I don't come to the conclusion that I actually want to have one,
I still want to sell a few things that we don't need.

July Goals

I can't believe it's already July.
Where does time go?
Let's look back at last month's goals before moving onto this month's goals.

June Goals

1. Not buy anything for myself. Well, kinda?
My husband did buy me a dress + shoes for my sister's wedding.
The fact that that's all I got last month is pretty impressive to me.

2. Read Whole30. And by that I actually meant read It Starts with Food
I didn't read every single chapter because you don't have to,
but I read what I needed plus more. It's a very interesting read.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to eat healthier
or is curious about whole30.

3. Take a family photo. This post proves it happened
They aren't the best, but hey, it's a memory.
We had plans for a family photo shoot last week, but it didn't work out.
I'm hoping within the next few months we can get some family pictures taken.

4. Keep up with meal planning and get back on track with exercise.
Didn't happen. I ate okay and worked out a few times,
just not as much as I would have liked.

Well, last month wasn't awful. I'm proud I accomplished most of my goals.
Now, onto this month...

July Goals

1. Participate in the whole30.
My husband and I actually started this on June 29th, so we will go until July 30.
It's going really well and I'm glad we decided to do the challenge.
It's been good for us in so many ways.
You can read more here about my first week.

2. Finish reading Fresh Brewed Life, that my friend gifted me.
I'm really enjoying it and it's gotten me back into journaling.
I'm pretty happy about that.

3. Come up with a list of at least 30 blogging ideas.
I think that's pretty do-able.

4. Work on a schedule for the kids.
We're seriously considering homeschooling. At least I think.
I'm still praying/thinking about it. I like the idea, I'm just nervous.
Hoping that writing out a schedule for it all and seeing it play-out would help.
So, if you have any suggestions on blogs/books/things I should read, please let me know!

June goals

It's a new month, so that means new goals.
Lets see how I did with last month's goals!

May goals:

1. Continue with the 1800minute challenge
I completed this challenge and am so happy I did!
I honestly didn't believe I would complete it, but it's been a life changer for me.
It's made me want to exercise more and eat healthier and I am doing so!
Winning!

2. Meal plan every week. Surprisingly this happened!
Again another one I didn't expect to happen because it takes a lot of work!
Now, if only I could figure out a way to get our grocery budget cut in half!
Any tips?

3. Read one book. Fail. That's all.

4. Start a prayer journal. Fail again.
I've prayed for people, but I know it can be much better!

5. Plan activities for the kids.
I'm saying it was a win even though it wasn't completely.
This post explains why. I've done a lot with the kids in the mornings.
We've grabbed breakfast and went to the park.
We've had play dates.
I say this is a win!

So, what are this months goals?
Just a few that I hope I can accomplish!

June goals

1. Not buy anything for myself.
Obviously things like food/bathroom items don't count.
I feel like I've been spending too much money lately.
It could be used for other things or put in savings.
No clothes, books, ect.
I CAN do this!

2. Read Whole 30.
I started it. I just need to finish it.
Hopefully then next month I can actually start Whole 30.

3. Take a family photo.
I just want a good one of my growing family.
I would love to get some professional photos done, but that just can't happen right now.
Surely, we can get a good one ourselves!

4. Keep up with meal planning and get back on track with exercising.
My elliptical broke a few weeks ago, but my husband fixed it.
I'm feeling out of shape since then,
so need to work back up to working out for 30-60 minutes.
I know this is do-able!

Four goals seems good for this month!

May goals

A new month, means new goals.
I can't believe how quickly April went, but I'm welcoming May!
Let's take a look back at my goals from last month

April Goals

1. Blog every single day
I'm crossing this one off even though I didn't blog every single day.
Really, there was only a handful of days I didn't blog.
Usually it was on the weekends when I was spending time with family.
So, I'm counting this as a success because I definitely blogged way more than normal!
Hoping I can keep up with it!

2. Workout for 1800 minute challenge
I'm proud to say this was a success!
I haven't completed the challenge because it's actually for two months, not just one!
I actually didn't think I would do as well, but it's definitely changed things.
Working out has actually become something I love to do! This is very exciting to me!

3. Keep up with the #40bagsin40days challenge.
Fail. I was doing so well, but then got behind and never caught up.
HOWEVER, this doesn't mean I can't keep on doing it.
There's still so many boxes in storage I need to go through!

4. Use my camera more and teach myself something.
Yes, but no. I used it a bit more, but not nearly as much as I would like.
Using my phone is just so much easier and quicker,
but I do love my camera pictures a lot more.
I need to work on this and making time to teach myself a thing or two.
This can be so hard because I have babies to take care of,
plus I do other things when I have free time!
Will work on it!

I did okay this last month.
I'm proud of myself for keeping up with blogging more and working out.
Those were two big goals and it's nice to know I can actually complete a goal!
Now, onto this months goals...

May Goals

1. Continue with 1800 minute challenge.
I didn't realize that this challenge was for April AND May.
Glad to know I have this month to reach the 1800 minute goal.
So far I've logged 1,135 minutes, which means I only have 665 minutes to go.
I have no doubt that I can complete this goal, especially when I start feeling better!
I plan on trying Jillian Michael's 30 day shred again. #Lordhelpme
I tried it before, but it is ROUGH.
I'm hoping that since I've been working out a lot,
that will help me do better this time around.

2. Meal plan every week.
I hate meal planning. I hate grocery shopping.
But I really want to eat healthier and get our grocery budget under control.
Hoping that meal planning will help with this!

3. Read one book.
Surely I can do this. I just have to shut off the computer/tv, right?
Oh, and not watch hours of Gossip Girl! ;)

5. Start a prayer journal.
I love to journal, but I'm just not that great at it.
Especially since having kids, but I want to get better.
I also want to get better at praying,
so I will be starting a journal where I write down prayers that need to be prayed.
So how can I pray for you?

4. Plan some activities for the toddlers.
I am so thankful for pinterest. It has been a lifesaver!
I need to take some time to sort through my pins
and come up with some things the toddlers can do on their own or I can do with them.
I know that this will be good for me and them!

April Goals

It's a new month, which means a new list of goals for the month!
Let's take a look back on my goals from last month and see how I did!

March Goals

For Myself:

Journal at least once a week. I journaled a total of three times.
I'd say this was a success, but I'd still like to do it way more!

Spend time in the word. I've been doing way better with this!
I've made some good progress, but know it still needs to be better!

Give up shopping for Lent. BIG FAT FAIL.

Read a few books. Again, this was a fail. I didn't try as hard as I could have.
I've been opting for tv over books, which is a bit sad!

For the house:

Declutter, declutter, declutter.
I've had so much success in doing #40bagsin40days and have gotten rid of so much!
I still have a ways to go, but I'm going strong and I have a feeling I'm not going to want to stop!

Get back on track with the cleaning schedule.
Success! I never thought I'd get the house back in order after having baby #3.
It's looking good and I'm keeping up with things daily for the most part!

For the family:

Go to church. Fail. This makes me so sad and I really want it to change!
Have Bible time with my kiddos every day.
It happened a few times, but not as much as I'd like!
Go on a few dates with my husband. Hasn't happened. We tried, but didn't work out.

So, I didn't do great, but I did okay.
The month wasn't a complete failure, so that makes me happy!

Now, onto the goals for this month!
I'm going to do things differently and not break them up into sections.
I'm also going to do fewer and see how that goes for now. I
need to give myself grace because I'm just now starting with these monthly goals
and hello three little children! They sure make life crazy! ;)

April Goals

1. Blog every single day.
Even as I write that I'm so nervous.
I participated in a challenge to do this last year and didn't succeed.
I want to grow my blog. I want to write more. I want to document life more.
So, I'm going to participate in this blogging challenge in hopes that it will help me out!
Some days I will post using Karissa's prompts. Other days (like today!) I will post other things.

2. Workout for 1800 minutes.
That's a whole lot of minutes isn't it?
Or so it seems, but really it comes down to just 30 minutes a day.
I'm participating in the #1800minutechallenge, which you can check out ----> here.
Hopefully this helps me to lose some pounds and feel better about myself and life!

3. Keep up with the #40bagsin40dayschallenge.

4. Use my actual camera more and maybe teach myself something!
Ever since my husband and I got iphones, my canon has rarely been in my hands.
I've used it a time or two, but it's been pretty darn neglected.
I want to use it more to document my everyday life and my kiddos.

That seems like a good amount to me. Hopefully I do better this time around!

Monthly Goals: March

For the past few months I've seen lots of bloggers post monthly goals.
I've been really drawn to these posts because I think it's a really great idea.
I tend to feel like I do the same thing every day.
I clean the house and take care of the kiddos.
Now, I'm not saying those aren't important things.
I actually enjoy keeping the house from becoming a complete disaster and I adore my kids.
However, life can feel kind of boring, when that's all I'm doing.
It honestly doesn't leave me feel like I'm living, but just getting through the days.
I don't enjoy that feeling!
I believe having some monthly goals will help me to feel different.
At least that's what I'm hoping for!

I've been meaning to post monthly goals for a few months.
With having been pregnant, having a newborn, and taking care of two crazy toddlers,
it just hasn't happened, but this week I made it a goal!
Here are my goals for March:

For myself:
Journal more. Once a week, at least.
Spent time in the Word. I am using the lent reflective journal from nap time diaries.
Give up shopping for Lent.
Read a few books - a chapter a week of Hands Free Mama and finish reading Reshaping it all.

For the house:
Declutter, declutter, declutter! I'm participating in the #40bagsin40days challenge.
Get back on track with the cleaning schedule I made months ago!

For the family:
Go to church. We haven't been in forever.
Have Bible time with my kiddos every single day!
Go on a few dates with my husband.

This seems like a good list to me for the first month.
I'm hoping I can be successful, but I'm going to give myself grace as well.
It's not about being perfect. It's about trying.
At least for me.

Do you have monthly goals? What are they?
Leave a link if you share them on your blog - would love to read!
