A passion of mine

I love to write.
The first time I remember writing a story was 3rd grade.
I couldn't wait to get done with my math so I could work on my story.

And then as I got older I would spend hours writing in my journal.
Writing about things going on in life such as my first crush and first heartache,
prayers to God, frustrations, anger, things I wanted to change, things I was thankful for.

In high school and some years in college I wrote for the school newspaper.
Writing was my way of getting my thoughts out.
I'd write about things I was going through.
Hard things.
Convictions.
Passions.
God things.
I loved it and felt like I was good at putting my thoughts into words.
I wrote without fear.
It didn't matter what others thought because they were my words and they were
important to me.

I miss that, writing that way....
Writing things I'm convicted and have strong feelings about,
things I believe, passions I have. I miss writing without fear.
I want to do more of that because its important to me, because I love it.

So, hopefully there will be more of that around here.

Pssst....I'm over here!

I really love this photo of him and I.
Our time together is so important...just him and me time.
We don't get a lot of it, so little walks down the road are important.

Speaking of important...I'm over here today, writing about why I journal.
Check if out if you want.

Inspiration Workshop (week 3)

I'm really excited for this weeks prompt for the inspiration workshop at Gussy Sews! The prompt is green, which could be the color green or "going green." I chose to go with the recycling lingo, "going green." I've never been one to go green (I know, I know....awful person), but it is appealing to me! In college, us girls in the coffee house recycled, but that was pretty much as far as it went for me. However, lately I have found a few things that stuck with me when it comes to reusing and recycling. I will share one of my favorites with you!

I receive emails from Simple Mom and often love them, but this is one of my favorite articles. Have old letters and cards laying around? Stuck in a box, in the back of your closet? Well, there are so many things that can be done with them.

You can:
- Scan old letters and save them on your computer.
- Tuck them in your scrapbook or journal.
- Keep them to give them back to the writer later on in life.
- Make gift cards out of old cards.
- Use cards as scrapbook or journal embellishments.
- Make cards into postcards.
- Donate cards tops (girl scouts/summer camps could use them as crafts).

I am just in love with this. I have so many cards from friends, my wedding, and baby shower. They would be perfect for scrap booking, my journal, baby booking, or postcards! Excited to go through mine and see what I'd like to do with them!
