Be the person I want them to be

I catch myself day dreaming, at times, about the future.
A lot of the time the future of my children.
Who will they be? What will they love?
I wonder what personality traits they'll have from me and what they'll have from their daddy.
I imagine them to be a certain way, to be certain people.
My heart hopes for it. Desperately wants it.

I want them to be compassionate.
To care for people in such a way that when others hurt, they hurt right along with them.
To be a shoulder to lean on, an ear to listen.
To pray for others and want the best for people.
I want them to be kind to everyone they meet and be a good friend.
I want them to love their neighbor and be forgiving.

I want them to have faith. Faith that can move mountains.
Faith that no matter what happens, is still there.
I want them to believe without a doubt that God is there and that He died for them.
I want them to know that regardless of their sin, God loves them and He always will.
That His love is all they need.
I want them to read the Bible and know the wisdom that can be found there.
I want them to cry out to God. I want them to know grace and give grace.
I want them to listen to God and do what He tells them.
I want them to have a relationship with Him.
To know that its the most important relationship they can ever have.
I want them to grow in that, to never stop knowing Him,
to never stop being faithful to the One who has been faithful to them.

I want them to know that they are loved.
That no matter what they do, no matter who they are, they are loved by their parents.
I want them to know that they mean the world to me, that making me a mama was the best thing. I want them to know that they will always be enough, the will always be precious and important.

I want them to be honest. With themselves and others. I want them to never be afraid of being who they truly are. I want them to be true to themselves and never let anyone make them feel as if they shouldn't be.

I want them to have goals and passions.
I want them to persure their dreams and not let anything hold them back.
I want them to want to learn, to know that they are capable of doing whatever they want in life.
I want them to never give up.

I want them to be happy and full of joy.
To not think that, that comes from having things or being a certain way,
But to know that those things... real joy, real happiness, comes from God.

I want them to be so much.
I'm realizing thought that they aren't magically going to become these people in the future.
The work for them to become those people starts now. And it starts with James and I.
Now, is the time for us to shape their little hearts and minds.
In all honestly that scares me...
Because I know in order for them to be the people I want them to be,
they need to see these things in us as their parents.
And sometimes these things aren't present in our lives or not as they should be.
So I'm trying to work on these things because my children need to see them.
I'm working on being kinder, loving, honest, joyful and having a better relationship with Jesus.
I hope my kids see it and grasp it tight.

Friday Letters

Dear Friday,
I'm glad it's you! At first this week was going by fast,
but yesterday it felt like it was taking forever!

Dear Weekend, you however, are allowed to stay as long as you want.

Dear my sweet two year old, I love you more than words could ever express,
but lately you're driving me a bit bonkers, especially when you don't listen to me.
Please, oh, please get with the program and start listening to mama!
I really do know what's best for you!

Dear Husband, thanks for working so hard for us.
I'm glad that because of you I am able to stay home with our kiddos.
It may be tough at times, but it's totally worth it. I love you for that ;)

Dear Maeva, can you please stop growing?
I cannot believe you are going to be 5 months old Sunday.
Seriously, slow down, I just cannot handle it.
I do love watching you grow though and seeing you hit milestones.
Your laugh is the best.

Dear Parenthood,
Seriously cannot believe you didn't address the abortion issue in the latest episode.
You need to address it. You have to.
It's just so sad and heartbreaking, but I won't get on my soapbox about it now.
Maybe in a different post.

Dear Lying Game, you are my new addiction. Glad husband doesn't mind watching with me!

Dear self, it's okay that sometimes you feel like you are about to lose your stinkin' mind
And it's okay if you do.
You don't have to hold it together all the time.

Dear Coffee, I love you. I don't know how I ever hated you or lived without you.
I am sorry, please forgive me. I want you around always and forever.

Dear Blog, I'm so glad I've gotten back into you. I love your new header and your readers!

Dear Baby Weight, you are going down! You aren't welcome around here anymore!

Dear Leslie Sansone, you are my new walking buddy. Thanks for being my motivation!

Dear Weekend, I know I already mentioned you,
but just wanted to remind you not to go to quickly!

My weekend

It was a pretty good weekend.
Didn't do a whole lot, but got a few things done at the same time!

I've been itching to get Braden and Maeva's room together. I went shopping BY MYSELF for a few hours & picked up a few things to include in their room. I love this sign for Braden because it is so true! Little boys are loud and dirty! Love him still! Then, I spent a chunk of time in their room after my husband rearranged. There's still a lot to do, but hey, I have 6 weeks until she gets here! =)

Some time in the word. I really do love and appreciate what She Reads Truth is doing in my life! I say that over and over again... but I can't remember the last time I read it on a daily basis! So good - encouraging and often, convicting!

I hit my 33rd week yesterday. I can't believe how fast this pregnancy has flown by. But at the same time I am so ready to have a somewhat normal body back...And to start working out and really aiming for that! :S

Naps always happen.
Braden's been in his big bed for a bit now, but finally figured out how to get out!
He seems to enjoy the floor more. Ends up there...always. With his bear of course!

Family time outside. We haven't been able to go outside really (except for the pool) because it has been insanely hot and I just couldn't do it. When the temperature is 100+ a pregnant lady just can't do it! Braden was happy to be able to run free outside for a bit. We enjoyed it too because it was so much cooler and pleasant! Then, of course, we had to go to sonic and get some ice cream! =)

What did you do over the weekend?
Are your weekends usually full or do you relax?
I think relaxing with my family is the best part.

InstaFriday

Today I'm linking up for the first time over at Life Rearranged with instragram photos from my week!

Lots of pool time with my sweet boy! He was a bit hesitant the first day we went, but in the following days he was all about walking about by himself and splashing. Still, he was more excited about the fountain at the pool. Even tried climbing in!

Daily feeling encouraged and lifted up by God's word though the #SheReadsTruth community on twitter! For the first time I'm reading God's word daily and am really excited about it! Feel free to join!

Some Starbucks and feeling especially big this week! At the end of my 27th week and like I always say, I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going!

A little boy who is all of a sudden enjoying his hat!
He put it on himself completely wrong, but hey, whatever makes him happy!

Someone being sneaky! Pulling everything off the bookshelf and pulling down the drawer to the disher washer just to climb on top!

Some art journaling for me. Been wanting to do this for a while!

The weekend in instagram

1-2: Time at the pool. Braden was a bit unsure about it.
3. Some pretty flowers on the walk back from the pool.
4. Cookin' out at 11:30 pm. It was a long day!
5. Chocolate chip cookies. I'd been craving em!
6. Starbucks because I was exhausted. Does there really need to be a because?
7. Stormy tornado weather. My first time actually seeing a tornado! No thanks!
8. Braden making elephant sounds in the backseat while we drove around.
9. A krispy kreme run even though there were thunderstorms all around.

I just got instagram a week or so ago.
I love it, but I have to be careful that I don't be come obsessed with it and forget to use my other camera.
I can love them both! Want to follow me? My user name is Kassie Rew
