Halloween Candy Crunch + World Market Sweepstakes!

Disclaimer: Thank you World Market for sponsoring today's delicious post!
Today I'm excited to share with you a treat Braden and I made last week.
I love kettle corn - so much so that I eat an entire bag in one sitting, without sharing!
It's my favorite and with all the goodness mixed in, I think my kids love it too!
Braden definitely enjoyed making it and keeps on asking,
"Mommy, we make another treat?"
He really loved shaking the sprinkles all over the place and sneaking bites!

I expected it to be good, but not so good
that I didn't want to share any and that I wanted to eat every last piece ASAP.
It's just the perfect amount of sweet and salty!
So, here's what you'll need (all from World Market
because they have so many yummy treats!)

Halloween Candy Crunch

Spread the kettle corn out on a cookie sheet.
Add as much candy corn as you desire
Crunch up the pretzels (or don't!) and spread them over the kettle corn + candy corn.
Melt the white chocolate and drizzle it over the mixture.
Shake sprinkles over it all.
Mix it up in a cute container like this adorable pumpkin baker!
Then dig in! You can share or you don't have to!

What's a yummy popcorn treat without a movie?
The Book of Life is coming to theaters October 17th and I think it would be a great film
for the whole family (not that I'd ever sneak my own snack into a movie ;).

Book of Life is an animated Romeo and Juliet inspired love story set during a Day of the Dead celebration: Manolo is a young matador who wants to shed the expectations of his family to follow his dreams of being a musician and his best friend, Joaquin, is the successful pride of the town. They compete for the heart of Maria. In order to win Maria's heart and save her life, Manolo must face his greatest fears and follow his heart to rewrite his destiny. It starts the voices of Channing Tatum, Zoe Saldana, Diego Luna, Danny Trejo, and Cheech Marin.

To celebrate the movie, World Market is giving you the chance a trip to Riviera Maya and free movies for a year! The grand prize is a 5 day/6 night, stay at Grand Velas Riviera May, free movies for a year, a $1,000 World Market gift card and Book of Life Merchandise! Three first prize winners will also receive a $50 World Market gift card. I don't know about you, but I would sure be happy to win!

Be sure to enter the sweepstakes here. Ends October 24th.
Don't forget to check out all the Book Of Life merchandise World Market has too!

Halloween snapshots

Halloween has yet to be a huge deal around here yet.
Really, its more for me than anyone else! =)
Its fun to dress the kids up and go a few places,
even if its only a friends and the grandparents.

^^^"What's a train say? Choo choo!" - Braden^^^

I tried the costumes on the kids a few hours before we were going to head out.
I put Braden in his Thomas which he was excited about because hello,
Thomas is just that cool!
But he pretty much instantly said, "take it off!"
I told him he could have it off for a bit, but that I was going to make him wear it...
because I'm mean! ;)

Little miss on the other hand seemed to take to her costume right away!
She started running around and looking like such a cute little owl!
Of course she tried to take it off multiple times throughout the night.
They were both happy to have breaks when they were in the carseats.
Carseats plus costumes don't work out so well.
There was lots of taking off and putting on throughout the night.
Exhausting!

We stopped by a friends house for some Halloween fun. How cute are these sharks?
My friend did an amazing job making them. Wish I was that crafty! ;)
These kids always have lots of fun together and am very thankful for them.

We also stopped by both sets of grandparents,
which I should have gotten pictures of, but didn't!
There was lots of fun, giggles, running around and
too much candy that didn't even make it home! Darn!
Its not like we don't have two hugs bags that I was suppose to hand out, anyway! Whoops!

How was your Halloween?
Do you go out? Take the kids out?
I figure next year my two, especially Braden will want to go out!

31 days {painting pumpkins}

I still need to blog about carving pumpkins and how the pumpkin is no more,
but today its all about something Braden loves instead!
A few weeks ago I was at the grocery store and saw tiny pumpkins, 3 for $1.
They were the perfect size for Braden to paint and I knew he'd be so excited
because the kid loves to paint and is obsessed with pumpkins lately!

When I asked him if he wanted to paint a pumpkin,
he got so excited and started jumping up and down, saying,
"Paint a pumpkin! Paint a pumpkin!"
I love how excited he gets about things, even the simplest of things!

I painted a pumpkin right along side him and we had fun for a whole 5 minutes.
Things certainly don't last long with toddlers!
I really try to throw all my expectations out the window when it comes to this stuff.
It won't last long, it will be messy, and it won't be perfect!
That's anything crafty with my son, at least! ;)

We still have one small pumpkin left,
which I may let him paint soon or maybe melt crayons on!
His grandma also gave us another pumpkin, so maybe we will carve that as well!
I love the Holidays and am excited for the activities it brings.
I cannot believe that Halloween is already on Thursday!
I'll be sure to have some pictures of the kids in their costumes then!

Halloween

The way we do Halloween right now is pretty simple.
We take the kids to their grandparents and that's pretty much it.
This year we stopped by a friends house too.
Maybe it will be different next year. We shall see.

It was fun to dress them up and take Braden to get some candy.
He was so excited about getting candy this year.
Whenever he'd get some in his bucket, he'd take it out, hold it up to the person who gave it to him and say, "Oh, oh, oh!"
It was hilarious and I wish I'd caught it on camera.

Maeva, of course, had no clue what was going on, just that I had interrupted her sleep.
But she still smiles and looked like the sweetest ladybug ever!

Really, there isn't much to say.
Braden already realizes he has candy and wants to eat it all the time.
And check out this photo just for fun...

I was trying to get him to sit down on the stairs, to take a picture with his pumpkin (for his second Halloween) and he just wasn't having it. He wanted to go down the steps, not sit!
It found myself trying not to laugh because its just funny and cute!

Hope you had a happy Halloween!

Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday we finally got to go to the pumpkin patch.
I'd been excited to go for a while because I just knew Braden would love it.
I figured we'd spend a few hours there playing and just spending time together.
However, it didn't really go as planned. Ever have those times as a parent? ;)
Well, we ended up staying about thirty minutes...
Because Braden wasn't really enjoying it and Maeva wasn't appreciating the baby carrier.
Needless to say I was disappointed. Probably more than I should have been.
I did get a few pictures, thankfully!
Enjoy!

He had some fun.
Riding in a "car", playing in the dirt, and with the cars.
Wasn't so much into the pumpkins or taking a picture with mom.
Wish we were able to get some family pictures...
Especially in the chair like we had the past two years!
Maybe next year!

His costume: Killing me with cuteness

I took so many pictures yesterday, as I usually do and I couldn't decide which ones to post.
So, there are a lot! My grandma picked up this costume at a thrift store and I do have to say (of course) that he is the cutest giraffe I have ever seen!

His first Halloween, so I painted a 1 (got this idea on pinterest)!

I was surprised that he actually didn't mind wearing this! Even the hood!
Next year I look forward to actually taking him (And maybe a sibling?!?! No, I'm not pregnant, but I want to be) trick or treating!
