30x30 challenge recap

Saturday I finished the 30x30 challenge and let me tell you I am so happy to be done with it! I do think it was a fun challenge, but at the same time 30 days is a long time! It wasn't that the challenge was necessarily hard for me, but really, I just got sick of my clothes. Here are my thoughts:

- I can make a lot more outfits out the amount of clothes I have, then I thought.
- I know I could make more outfits out of just my 30 challenge clothes, alone.
- I should have chose less tops and more bottoms. I got so sick of dresses and skirts . Hence the reason I sometimes wore shorts for days in a row.
- I really like that stripped shirt of mine.
- I can be more fashionable than I thought.
- I can mix and match things I never thought I would before.
- My favorite outfits are: day #4 (my favorite out of the whole challenge), #16, #17, and #20.
- I will definitely do the challenge again - in a different season of course!

The End

Stripped tee: Target. Tank: Express. Shorts: Old Navy.

I have officially completed the 30x30 challenge and I am so glad.
It was fun and challenging at times, but I want to wear different clothes.
Don't plan on seeing my challenge clothes for a long time...maybe for the rest of my life. ;)

Review tomorrow. Maybe, but this weekend is very busy!

I am most joyful when

Earrings: Gift. Scarf: Modcloth. White tee: Gap. Under tank: Walmart. Shorts: Forever21.

When my baby is cuddling with me.
Or just when I look at his little face.
When I am barefoot (is that cheating when it comes to the 30x30?).
When relationships are going right.
When I read a good word from God.
When there is laughter.
When I am outside.
When I am reading a good book.

What fills you with the most joy?

Almost there!

Last night when I tried to post blogger wasn't working, so you get two outfits today!
Headband: Made by my mom and me. Necklace: Forever21. Top: Wet Seal. Dress: Old Navy. Shoes:Express.
I apologize for the bad pictures (again). Its been a crazy week with moving and all. I really am going to try to get better at picture taking and not taking them so late at night! Its always dark when I get around to it!
Shirt and shoes (the yellow ones): Target. Earrings: Gift. Skirt: Hand me down.
In other news I am almost done when the 30x30 challenge. I'd day I cannot believe I only have two days left, but I can! Its been a long 30 days and I am definitely sick of the clothes I've been wearing! Can't wait to wear some of the new things I have.

I also cannot wait til the weekend because my husband doesn't have to work Monday which means a longer weekend, which means more family time! Yay!

There is beauty in it

Headband and necklace: Gift. Tee and shoes: Target. Nursing top: Babies R Us. Shorts: Old Navy.

Some days I don't think about my body.
I don't worry about it and the thought, "I'm fat" doesn't cross my mind.
Yet, most days it does.
Most of the time I look at my body and want my pre-baby body back.
Its hard and frustrating.

But I'm trying to hold onto what is true.
Yes, theres extra weight.
Yes, I have stretch marks.
BUT that extra weight and those stretch marks
are from the fact that I carried a baby.
Theres beauty in those things!
I may not see it and others may think I am fat, but you know who sees it?
God sees it.
He, more than anyone sees beauty in my body because I carried a child of His.
I'm holding onto that and the fact that it was all worth it.
That baby sleeping in the other room is full of beauty.

Stealing moves

Earrings and vest: Gift. White tee: Gap. Tank and shorts: Old Navy. Shoes: Express.

Do you think posing is awkward? I do. Often I end up doing the same thing. Well, tonight when my husband and I were over at his parents we were watching a tape of them being on vacation. In one of those videos they were taping a model that was getting her picture taken. She really just moved around, so I figured, eh why not just move all over the place? So, I did.
Brings back memories... I always wanted to be a model when I was little. What 8 year old girl didn't? I have pictures of a friend and I playing model. I, however, will never show those...so embarrassing.

Song and dance

Sometimes I get in weird moods. Like, totally not myself. Maybe this weird mood came about because I was in the apartment all day cleaning and packing. Maybe its because I have a baby and that will make me become weirder and weirder. Who knows, but tonight when taking pictures I wanted to sing, "I'm a little tea pot." So, I did.
I'm a little tea pot. Short and stout.
Here is my handle, here is my spout.
When I get all steamed up hear me shout...
Tip me over and pour me out!
Earrings: Gift. Tank:Walmart. Shirt:Target. Skirt: Hand me down. Shoes:Express.
Giggle. Giggle.Giggle.

Now, I'm tempted to sing "Ring Around the Rosie." Wonder if I could get husband to play along with me. Doubt it, but I could try. =)

By the way...
This smiley little guy turned 7 months old today. Time sure flys!
I love him so much and everyday he amazes me!

Boxes, boxes, boxes everywhere!

Headband: Amaze boutique. Necklace: Great grandma's. Dress: Charming Charlie. Skirt: Thrifted.

You see those boxes I'm sitting on (by the way for the millionth time I've started to type booze, but I promise there is no booze in this house) I'm supposed to be putting things in them to move next Friday.
I doubt we will actually move by then, but hey, it could happen? I just need to get motivated.
So far we've taken a huge box of books and movies to Half Price books and I have two huge, overflowing boxes of other random things to take to Goodwill. We're also selling a few things.
I like getting rid of things. It makes life simple...not having so much "stuff".

By the way, I know you cannot see my shoes, but they are the yellow ones from target.
Now, excuse me while I go change into packing worth clothes.

Photo Craze

Sometimes I go a little photo crazy. I just love the feel of the camera in my hands and being able to capture life. So deal, okay? ;)

Oh, how I love nature.
....And now for my outfit.
Earrings: Gift. Shirt: Thrifted. Skirt: Old Navy. Shoes: Charming Charlie.

We ran into these jumbo dandelions and had to try to blow it out. It didn't work very well.
What did I wish for? A cute baby. Oh, wait...I already have one.
By the way, he tries to eat everything even flowers.

I thought I'd give painting a try.

Necklace: Gift. Dress: Old Navy. Belt:Wetseal. Shoes: Express.

Well, today I made it to the halfway point in the challenge. Feeling good about it for now.
I'm really wanting to do something different with my blog. I like clothes, but theres more to me than getting dressed in the morning. Not to mention somedays I don't want to get dressed - not that I walk around without clothes on or anything, but I just don't care about what I wear somedays.
Maybe more writing, more creative, more about faith, motherhood, and marriage for sure.

Speaking of creativity. I decided that I wanted to try painting the other day. I've always wanted to paint, but figured I wouldn't be any good, so I never really tried. Then the other day I just had this strong urge to paint. Here is the outcome.

I call this painting "A Few of My Favorite Things"
Friendship.
Motherhood.
My marriage (K+J).
Photography.
Coffee.
Music.
Journaling.
Gerber daises.

Its not the best painting in the world, but hey I tried and I was pretty proud of myself!

Hope your Friday night is rockin'

Motivated? Share with me please.

Dress: Charming Charlie. Vest: Gift. Skirt: Hand me down. Necklace:Walmart. Shoes: Express.

So, I'm pretty sure that I could make a billion different outfits just by throwing this vest over whatever. I love it. Its one of my favs.

I wish I had something interesting to write about, but today I was so unmotivated.
The only thing I really managed to do today was work out. After that motivation was pretty much gone. I'm surprised I even got myself dressed.

How do you stay motivated? Seriously, share...please!

I'm at a loss for a title

Sunglasses and earrings: Walmart. Tank: Babies R US (hello um nursing tank!). Shorts: Kohls. Shoes: Target. Bracelet: Gift.

Today we were out and about. Because of that I wasn't really in the mood to wear what I had planned on. No worries, I stuck with by 30x30 outfits, but dressed more down. Not the most exciting outfit, but totally didn't care today. Went shopping today with my mom and grandma. I know I'm not supposed to shop, but does it count when I'm not spending our money? lol love when my mom or grandma buys me something... lucky me! Now, I just have to wait to wear those things....

This little guy was pretty much an angle the whole time. Sat in his stroller barely making a peep and sleeping! I had him on his belly in the stroller for a while (I know some people probably think I'm awful for not having him buckled in the correct way, but whatever...totally watching him the whole time and it was only while we were in the store) and went to take a picture...of course he had to stick his tongue out. He loves to do that when he knows I'm going to take a picture. He also, apparently likes to yell "dada dada dada" very loudly in the middle of the store. Silly boy.

Hope your week started off good! We're moving at the beginning of July, so I have a lot of sorting and packing that needs to be done and some selling as well. Maybe I'll start on that tomorrow!
