Braden's 4th Birthday

My oldest is 4 today and I just can't believe it!
How does time fly so quickly?!?!
I remember having him and knowing my world had changed instantly.
I remember feeling so in love with him and even more in love with my husband.
Braden's such a blessing to us all. Such a wonderful boy!
We had a small party for him on Saturday.

When I asked what kind of cake he wanted, he said, "Thomas!"
I decided to make it this year and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out!
Here are a few party pictures!

A few of his favorites: chocolate, a track made out of m&ms and trains!
Silly boy! The instant we turned the cake around to take a photo he started trying to blow
the candle out! We didn't even get to sing happy birthday before it happened, but still did afterwards!

Sutton didn't get any cake, but she got lots of snuggles from everybody!

Took some pictures with him before opening gifts!
Meant to take a family photo, but just didn't happen!
He got so many gifts for his birthday!
Two trains from my mom and step-dad. He refused to let go of them!
He also got the Thomas tent he had been asking for from us.
Clothes, games, and another train he'd been asking for!

We also splurged and got him a train table.
He loves to play with them else where!
This was a great gift because he and Mae can share! ;)
He was very excited about it when we brought him downstairs.
He said, "It's a train table! Can I play with it?"
Yes sweet boy, all yours!

Happy birthday to my favorite 4 year old!
You're the best and we love you so much!

He turned three

My baby boy turned three yesterday!
Its such a surreal thing because you really do feel like you just had them yesterday!
I cannot believe how quickly three years has gone and it, of course,
makes me realize how the years will fly by!
It is so fun watching them grow, but it makes a mama's heart ache too!
You want them to stay little, but they just won't…
However, he'll always be my baby boy!

Last weekend I told him we were going to have a birthday party.
He's been so excited about it since then! Always asking questions!
"We're gonna have a party mommy? And cake? And ice cream? And presents?"
"Gonna see a friend? And grandma's?"
So excited about his birthday and all it entailed.
This is the first year that he really got it, so that made it more exciting for everyone! =)

We invited family and friends over to help celebrate!
He was very excited about gifts and after pulling the first one out, he said, "Open it mommy!" =)

^^^Checking out his train set from his grandparents!^^^

^^^Having a bit of a meltdown in grandma's lap because he wanted them opened right away!^^^

^^^Really, it involved me opening the gifts, mostly^^^

^^^Enjoying some new toys!^^^

We ordered Braden's cake at the end of last week and it was perfect!
We knew he'd just love Thomas and it tasted so good with the butter cream frosting.
We will definitely be ordering it again!

He loved the cake so much, but more so as a toy.
I'm pretty sure he only took one bit and just played with the train. =)
His excited face or focused face above gets to me every time!
I do not understand what is going through his mind!

Little miss sure enjoyed the cake though.
And then she crashed hard for the rest of the day! =)

Can you guess what gift Braden loved the most?

He seriously played with his new train set from before the party ended until bed time.
I couldn't believe it and told him I would have got him one a long time ago,
if I knew he'd love it that much!
I didn't even know a three year old could have that long of an attention span!
It was the first thing he ran to play with this morning when he came out of his room.
Forget breakfast, I wanna play with the train!

I would say he had a great birthday!

12 months + a party!

Hello,
Today is my birthday! I'm a whole year old!
That seems like a long time to me, but everybody keeps on talking about how time goes so quickly.
One day, maybe I'll understand that!
Do you know that I am walking!?!?!
It's pretty fun and I'm pretty proud of myself.
The most steps I've taken are 7, but I'm working on it.
I'm not always good at balancing, but I will keep on trying.
My bottom is a little sore from all the falling, but that ain't gonna keep me down!
Other new things? I say a few words.
I say, "Uh oh" usually after I lose my balance.
I also say, "car".  I seem to think everything I hold is a car.
Mom and dad say I learned that word from my brother!
I guess I'll probably learn lots from him!
I really like to play.
I got lots of new toys for my birthday.
I'm really a fan of dancing Mickey and my little grocery register.
I like blocks too!
I'm still screaming a lot.
I guess I'm emotional or something? That's what everyone keeps on saying.
Maybe I'll get over that or maybe I won't.
I know my parents are hoping for it!
Okay, that's all for now...
I guess I'm off to take a birthday nap? Is that suppose to be special?
Doesn't sound different than any other nap I hate!

Love,
Mavey

Look at how I've grown!

^^^Super bummed I couldn't find a collage option for all the numbers to show up^^^

We celebrated this girl's birthday with some family and friends on Sunday.
Here are some pictures!

^^^ Birthday outfit from my mom^^^

^^^ A picture with one set of her great grandparents!
Should have gotten a picture with the other set!^^^

^^^ Lots of gifts with lots of people^^^

^^^ Refused to eat it without a spoon^^^

Not perfect pictures and I'm really kicking myself that we didn't get a whole family photo!
Maybe I need to redress her in her cute outfit just to take one!
It was fun to celebrate our baby girl, who is no longer a baby, but a toddler!
Oh goodness, two toddlers! Life is crazy, but I love it!

Happy Tuesday!
